VII. RSS Feeds
I was not sure what to expect when I started this module. I had no idea what a RSS feed was or how to use it. I had of course seen the icon on numerous pages I browse, but never bothered to check it out. After creating my iGoogle account I was immediately surprised at the amount of information on the page. I can access twitter, recipes, weather, events around Indy and that was just the beginning before I began to personalize. Once I began adding my RSS feed sites I began to get frustrated as I found many sites I would have liked to add, but couldn't find an RSS link on their site. I finally settled on three personal ones; govolsxtra.com for all my UT Football news, Daytime Confidential to keep up on my soap opera, and msnbc.com for news. For educational purposes I chose the Library of Congress News for Teachers page and ISTE. I've actually made iGoogle my homepage I love being able to get all my news and daily sites as soon as I log in and find that it saves me the time of having to go from site to site to get the latest info. Thanks for introducing us to this, Mr. Bagwell!
VI. Emerging Technology III
This is my scrapbook for Emerging Technology III. I used mixbook to create a digital scrapbook of my friends and family. I actually loved doing this project. Picking out different pictures of my friends and family to use and capture some of my favorite memories was so much fun, and MixBook is incredibly easy to use. It has an upload function and templates for use and then you can drag and drop pictures where you want them and add tags and clip art to dress up your pages. I love this digital memory book and look forawrd to using it again in the future. Thanks for introducing us to this site!
V. Delicious Post
http://delicious.com/tymdoss
Here are my 16 links posted to Delicious for Module 4. I was actually surprised by the ease of using this site and how usefull it can be. Storing your links on the web for personal use and for sharing is great for when you're not at home or for sharing with students/parents in the classroom. I can use this to share study sites or research sites with my students or even informational sites for parents.

IV. Emerging Technologies - Photosharing
For the second emerging technology I chose to do a photosharing project. I used Photoshow by Roxio to create the slide show of images along with the accompanying music. Photosharing is actually something I have previously done for various websites and social networking sites. I really enjoy putting them together and being able to look back at the project and enjoy the images. For this one I decided just to use various images of my friends and family which highlight important events or people in my life. I actually had a hard time only choosing only 24 pictures to share and wish I could add more without purchasing a premium account. However, this brief two minute glance into my life showcases my closest friends and my family. Enjoy!
III. Emerging Technologies - Podcasting
For this blog post I am exploring podcasting as an emerging technology. I speak a little about the process I used to create my podcast and how it might be used in the classroom in the future. I see many ways this could be beneficial and it is more flashy and fun than a usual typewritten blog post, however, it is a bit more labor intensive to create and publish. All-in-all I am glad this assignment gave me a chance to explore podcasting.

I. First Entry
Hello! And welcome to my blog! My name is Tyla and I am a 27 year old Social Studies Education Major at IUPUI in Indianapolis. This is actually my second college stint. Previously I spent four years at Ball State University before moving back to Indianapolis.
I originated at BSU as a Social Studies Ed major but ended majoring in History and Political Science. After moving back to Indy and spending a few years working as a public servant I have returned to my original desire to teach and thus became enrolled at IUPUI. This is my first semester back, and along with classes I am working two jobs (The first being my full-time job in government and the second as a part-time waitress.). I find classes, school work and work difficult to balance and feel that I am constantly juggling to stay afloat as well as spend time with my very ill mother. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I have complete faith in this insane schedule and the long work hours that it will be worth it in the end and that I'm truly doing something worthwhile.
Setting up this blog was actually fairly easy for me. I have used blogger before and so I am fairly familiar with the setup and the options. I would like to do some more work with the layout and graphics, but feel that what I have currently is working as far as ease of presentation, functionality and professionalism.
